Artist’s Comments:
Much of my work is based on and inspired by mathematics within nature and in this sculpture this maths is applied using straight lines with a rotational axis to create beautiful flowing curves. This began by creating forms based on the Fibonacci spiral, using lengths of tube stacked together and then rotated to create forms that conform to the principles of Fibonacci. The results of these experimental forms were always quite simple but at the same time often very beautiful.
