Girt by Sea Project is a breathtaking photographic journey that captures the raw, intricate beauty of Australia’s vast and varied coastline. Undertaken in a small aircraft, the project involved a full circumnavigation of the continent, offering a rare aerial perspective of remote beaches, dramatic cliffs, tidal estuaries, and ever-shifting coastal textures.
Photographers Tony Hewitt and Denis Glennon AM brought their unique vision and expertise to this ambitious venture. Over many hours in the sky, they created a body of work that is both technically masterful and emotionally evocative – transforming natural patterns and seascapes into powerful fine art prints that speak to the soul of the Australian landscape.
The resulting collection is more than a visual record; it is a celebration of place, perspective, and artistic exploration. The fine art prints – diverse in colour, texture, and tone are truly mesmerising, drawing viewers into the rhythm and detail of the coastline from above and offering an experience both meditative and awe-inspiring.
